Krita's performance optimization has improved recently. Versions 5.2.0+ crash way less frequently for me.

Yeah it just happened to me very few times when I first started on digital art (and tbh it was mostly becauseI used to animate on an old laptop haha). Last year I managed to build my first PC and I haven't had any problems since then, either way Krita will always be my personal favorite✨️
