I really like the technique of using 2D mouths/faces with 3D character models. It just makes them look more "alive" and appealing to me.

BTW: What did you use to make and rig the character models? Blender?

The models were made in Blender, but I'm not sure what program was used for the rigging.

You know that when the main characters go to space or meet some kinda extraterrestrials, it's a sign the show jumped the shark. ;) Not in this case though. Good job. Very enjoyable.
